Saiou says;
“I have three important duty as the player of the Japanese classical music.
-Firstly, inherit the tradition of ancient people.
-Secondly, playing Shamisen music for modern people.
-Thirdly, passing down sprits of traditionl Japan to the next generation.

It is to express a Japanese heart that I value most.That is,  passion and patience.

-A heart to love nature and the four seasons of the own country.
-A heart to love a family and a friend, a lover.
-A heart that it is understood and respects the partner who met newly.

I play the Shamisen wearing Japanese traditional folk costume, kimono.
Kimono is a very symbolic costume of  ‘the patience’.
However,  I also have’the passion’ as a person living in modern Tokyo.

Life is a journery of seeking the truth; it may be seeking the truth of the passion and the the patinece.”

2:The passion in mind-The restricting of movement sometimes bears the strong passion.

4:The restricted smile-The traditional Japanese musician is not permitted having a smile in time of the formally performance.
Restricted smile means the respect for the simplicity of the art.

5:Meeting with the different Culture-Meeting different culture is very important in my life, however it some times contains difficulties. It brings me a lot of experiences, and new ideas. When I met difficulties of understanding different culture, I was at a loss. Now I have learned understanding different culture needs time, more broaden heart,  and patience.

 6:Smile in private- Smiling  for reliable friends. Smiling is the door for understanding the different cultures or making the future.
